Joint Telekom and Union Bill Payment Insurance to Help in Hard Times
Magyar Telekom and the Union Insurance Company joined arm in arm to offer their customers bill payment insurance as of late October, thereby providing coverage to customers facing financial difficulties in paying their bills due to loss of work or permanent illness. Telekom is the first to render available in Hungary a kind of insurance that provides a solution to its customers in paying their telephone,internet or TV bills when work is lost or when they are forced into a lengthy disability.

Sustainability Press Award Founded by Telekom

Calling it the "hello tomorrow!" Press Award Magyar Telekom has established a prize for Hungarian press correspondents, with the aim to motivate journalists and correspondents who are open to and cover sustainability topics regularly. Journalists may enter the competition in the topics of sustainable consumption, equal opportunities, poverty, environmental protection, volunteering and climatic change. The winning paper will be selected by a 10-member jury composed of the representatives of Magyar Telekom and journalists of the Sustainability Media Club and the author will be granted a prize in the value of HUF 1 million by Magyar Telekom. The first award will be handed over on the 4th Sustainability Day on September 24.

Magyar Telekom has won the first place and the title of "Multicolor Organization TOP10" on the Opportunity Conference II. On the closing gala of the professional event, awards have been granted to the companies that most responsibly act for equal opportunities. The Company continues its multiple efforts in this philosophy. This year we focus on the employment of persons with changed abilities and on the career path of young fathers and women in the concept of "balance between job and family".

Magyar Telekom's Jövő/Menő program launched jointly with its strategic NGO partner has won Hungary's Employee Volunteering Award. Jövő/Menő, which demonstrates the possibilities for sustainable development with the help of employee volunteers, has come out first both in large company and newcomer categories in the competition invited by the Hungarian Business Leaders Forum (HBLF). The award was taken over by Chairman-CEO Christopher Mattheisen at today's award ceremony. The award winning program will represent Hungary in the European level competition in both categories.
